About Reiki
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive relaxation practice that supports the body and mind in moving towards a more settled and balanced state. It is often described as a form of holistic wellbeing support that encourages rest, grounding and deep relaxation.
During a Reiki session, you lie fully clothed in a calm and quiet environment while the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body. There is no manipulation, pressure or massage involved. The focus is simply on creating a safe, restful space where the body can begin to relax and unwind.
Many people experience Reiki as deeply calming, with a sense of stillness, warmth, or quietening of mental activity. Others simply feel rested or more grounded afterwards. Experiences vary from person to person, and there is no expectation of a particular outcome.
Reiki has its origins in Japan and was developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. It is now widely practiced as a complementary wellbeing approach in many parts of the world.
Reiki can support you through stress, grief or big life changes, and can complement ongoing talk therapy. After sessions, rest and drink water.
My approach to Reiki is grounded and supportive, offering a space to step away from the pace and demands of daily life. It can be helpful during times of stress, emotional overwhelm, fatigue, or when you simply feel the need for a pause.
Reiki offers a dedicated “permission to stop” — an hour where you are not required to do, fix or manage anything, but simply to rest, be supported, and allow the body and mind to settle.
